What is Pilates?

Classical Pilates is a movement system and repertoire of exercises developed by Joseph Pilates in the early 1900s. The first Pilates studio was opened in NY in 1926!

Why Should I do Pilates?

Pilates is gentle strength training that works to improve balance, posture, and spinal alignment. It promotes proper breath work and it’s also great for toning!

What if I am out of shape?

Pilates is for everyone! Many of the exercises can be modified to meet you where you are in your fitness/wellness journey.

How often should I practice Pilates to see benefits?

Consistency is key, as with most things in life. 1-3x(s) per week is recommended.

How much does it cost?

  • In-studio private (50 min): $60
  • Virtual Mat private (45 min): $45
  • Virtual Mat duet (45 min): $30 pp
  • Virtual Mat Class (45 min): $15 pp (min. 4 attendees)
  • Initial Evaluation in-studio or virtual, required for all new clients: (55 min) $60
  • Well-Rounded Bundle: (1) In-studio private and (1) virtual private mat each week: $95

Stronger Pilates is a small, fully equipped Pilates studio owned and operated in Hillsboro Virginia by Michelle Gillis, a certified Peak Pilates Instructor.

  • Hi! My journey with Pilates began many years ago as I’ve always been interested in fitness and overall wellness. But in the last several years as a Dental Hygienist, I knew I needed a program that would counteract the stresses and strains of my career. With consistent Pilates practice, my neck and back pain improved significantly, and I became more aware of my posture and movement patterns in my daily life.
